1. Getting there - It is across the street from Dubai International Airport (DXB). So, if you are living in the nearby Garhoud area, this hospital would be one of your best options. If you are using the metro, exit off at GGICO station, and Google map shows it will take a 17 min walk (1.4 KM) to get to the hospital. - If you are approaching from Deira Clock Tower, take a detour around the Le Meridien Dubai to find the entrance to the hospital. Easier to approach the hospital from the south (Emirates training college).
2. Parking Free valet parking. An amazing service given that finding a parking spot in busy hospitals can be a hassle. However, we still received some mixed reviews with regards to the valet-service, and parking. Some commentators informed us that the valet queue itself can get long, and if you wanted to bypass the queue, and drive to the parking floor yourself; then it takes a long time to eventually come up to the main floor of the hospital (someone said it took half an hour).
3. Reception Cozy, modern reception, given that it is a big hospital. Overall very clean, and doesn’t smell like an hospital at all, felt more like a boutique hotel. It is further helped with a coffee shop sitting on the 1st floor. Upon entering the hospital lobby, you take the escalator up to the M floor where OPD (outpatient department) registration reception is found. You can grab Starbucks Coffee, sandwiches, and snacks at the coffee shop.
4. Pharmacy Commentators frequently mentioned a long waiting time at the Pharmacy. Sometimes the wait-time is compounded by the required insurance approvals. The hospital might consider post approval procedure where you provide the medicine first and confirm with the insurance later (NMC does it). One commentator mentioned that they made unnecessary visits to the pharmacy to get medicine for injection, which could have been done internally (directly between internal departments) without requiring patients themselves make separate visits to the pharmacy.
5. Emergency Based on our research, this is the only private hospital in Dubai providing around-the- clock availability to specialists for emergency care, which means you can meet specialists at the emergency rooms rather than GPs.
6. Mother and Child floor The hospital provides a remarkable service in their NICU: ‘Look@MyBaby’, which enables the family to have 24/7 access to their new born child via the attached camera at the baby’s crib. A huge comfort for parents who need to leave their new born child at the hospital. The real time streaming view can be shared with your loved ones in any part of the world as well.
7. Doctors Overall rating for the doctors was very high. Patients seem to be very satisfied with the communication of their doctors (doctors are attentive, responsive, and kind with details), which is a great sign for big hospitals with different doctors to manage. We even met a patient who followed his doctor here from another hospital. 8. Staff Patients generally found the staff here very good. Almost all surveys gave staff above a 4 rating (good) to the staff. Well done to the service team! One interesting comment from an inpatient family believed the the housekeeping could be improved. Their experience showed that the towels were not changed in a timely manner. 9. Cost Generally good value for money. No specific comments were given about the cost of medical service. 10. Conclusion This is a multi-specialty hospital built at the end of 2014. The hospital was designed as per the American Institute of Architects - Hospital Architecture (AIA), with 100 beds. Although brand new, the hospital’s overall operation is efficient, well-maintained, and patients will be highly satisfied with the overall level of service quality, and care. The hospital also boasts added-value services such as free valet parking up-to 6 hours, and premium inpatient wards.
