5 Tips for Healthy Teeth: Dr May - Talass Medical and Dental Center

Dubai - DrFive visited Dr. May Saleh at the Talass Medical and Dental Center, located in Barsha Heights/TECOM, and received some very helpful tips for good dental hygiene. 

Tip 1: Brush teeth after EVERY single meal

Dr. May harped on this crucial requirement as bacteria build up in the teeth occurs especially after eating meals.   

Tip 2: Floss teeth every day or at least every other day to remove any left-over foods

Any left over food may promote the build up of oral bacteria

Tip 3: Stay away from sugary foods and sweets

Sugars, especially after 5 pm creates an inbalanced pH level in your mouth

Tip 4: Cut down on stain-causing foods and beverages

Tea, coffee, sodas, and red wines. Stains become areas where cavities start to form

Tip 5: Reduce all types of smoking (shisha, cigars), and use antiseptic mouthwashes 

Smoking leads to recession of gums, infections in the mouth, and gingivitis
