Dr. Axel Berens was born 1965 in Dortmund, Germany. From 1984 - 1997 he studied Dentistry and Medicine at the University of Munster, Germany. During his course of study, he followed an Internship at the Hospital das Clinicas in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
In 1997, he started his residency in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Hannover, Germany. Dr. Berens became a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2000.
Since 2001, he has been working in a private practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Hannover, Germany.
During Dr. Berens residency and working in a private practice, he gained a lot of experience in all kinds of Maxillofacial surgeries.
Dr. Berens main interest is in the field of Dental Implants. In his practice in Hanover he has been performing all kinds of Implant Surgeries, including bone grafting and other augmentation techniques. His clinic is well-known for referrals by many Dentists in the region.
Another important part of the clinical work carried out by Dr. Berens is the cooperation with Orthodontists. He carries out many minor surgeries for Orthodontists and is also able to correct complex deformations of the jaws (Dysgnathia Surgeries). These surgeries are performed in a private hospital, where Dr. Berens is working as a consultant surgeon. Dr. Berens is now able to perform these surgeries now in Dubai, as well.
His broad experience and scientific works on Oral and Maxillofacial surgery are published in many International Journals and he is also a well-known speaker at International Conferences.
