NMC Healthcare has undertaken a ground breaking project to build the most advanced super specialty hospital yet, the NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City A, on December 2nd 2012. When completed, the hospital will accommodate 250 beds, and will eventually feature 23 specialties. The hospital is due to be opened by the end 2015 and will have an umbrella of specialised medical care encompassing emergency services, intensive care, paediatrics, cardiology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, urology, neurology, psychiatry, gastroenterology and nephrology. The new hospital will specifically cater to the growing population of Abu Dhabi's Khalifa City, Al Raha, Mussafah, Mohammed bin Zayed City, Masdar City, Abu Dhabi International Airport, Shahama and Yas Island. According to the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, some of these suburbs are expected to house around one-fifth of the total population of the emirate by 2030. The Khalifa City hospital will be NMC's fourth and largest integrated specialty hospital facility in the UAE, alongside its existing specialty hospitals in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain. His Excellency Eng. Zaid Daoud Al Siksek, Chief Executive Officer of HAAD said, "We are happy about NMC's new hospital project at Khalifa City A. This initiative to construct a hospital with 250 beds in Khalifa City A will be an important addition to the healthcare system of Abu Dhabi and serve the medical needs of the growing population in this region." Built on an area of 54,200 sqm allotted to NMC by the Abu Dhabi Municipality, the new Khalifa City hospital will be comprised of basement and ground floors, as well as three further stories with a total built up area of some 75,000 sqm. The investment outlay for the project is estimated at $200 million until the year 2016. The construction contract was recently awarded to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction who will serve as engineers and consultants on the project.

Bad experience
I arrived at NMC Hospital in Khalifa City at 8 PM for an emergency visit. My wound was attended to at 3:00 AM, but rather than stitching it, they simply applied pressure and sent me away while still bleeding, with an appointment to see Dr. Hussam Eldin Mousa at 9:00 AM the next morning. When I returned, I didnt see the doctor until 9:45 AM. Dr. Mousa then arranged for me to be admitted to a room to wait for surgery. I was admitted at 12:15 PM, suffering from severe pain, but no one attended to me until 3:30 PM. During this time, Dr. Mousa was seeing walk-in patients, leaving me unattended in my room as my pain worsened, and my hospital bill increased with an open wound. Frustrated, I requested my Emirates ID and was discharged around 4:00 PM. I then went to another hospital where my wound was promptly stitched with 12 stitches, and I was discharged in less than an hour, an efficiency that NMC Hospital and Dr. Mousa failed to achieve over two days.

Pathetic doctors and limited resources
Took my wife for severe stomach pain. As usual Dr. prescribed multiple tests including ultrasound. There was no available appointment for 3-4 weeks. went back to the Dr. that she is in pain now and in return Dr. start giving the challenges and his helplessness explaining that he had critical cases but he couldnt help them. Anyway did the rest of the test and took second appointment of the Dr. in between got blood test results showed to two the close relatives dr. Both said theres infection went to same Dr. at the appointment date.. Dr. said theres no problem at all and also said you should have waited for ultrasound . wife is still in pain and now I am looking for another hospital for a re-check :(

I had a terrible experience with the pediatric Dr Gihan mohammed elamin abdul aziz whom i visited recently in NMC royal khalifa city. She seemed to be in a hurry since i entered the room.she was really rude and impatient. Was not even allowing me to complete what i wanted from her.Really disappointed. Would request the management to make sure doctors especially of pediatric department to be kind jolly happy and smiling through out the visit with the kids.I Hope the hospital looks into it.

Dr. Dinesh Banur is one of the best pediatrics in UAE. He listens patient calmly. He does the diagnosis perfectly and prescribes the medications accordingly. I have experienced personally when my daughter was sick and couldn’t recover even after giving full style treatment in Al Rahba Hospital for 4 days as they couldn’t diagnosis correctly. When I brought her to Dr. Dinesh, he has done diagnosis perfectly and started medicine. As a result, my daughter recovered quickly. I am really impressed and very much happy with his services. I have been using his services for last 5-6 years. Thank you so much Dr. Dinesh. Please keep it up. Regards- Veni Prasad
