Dr. Abhay Dandawate is a leading orthopedic surgeon in Dubai specializing in handling all types of fracture fixations, spinal surgeries including discectomies and spinal fixation, arthroscopic surgery for sports injuries of knee shoulder and ankle, joint replacement surgeries for knees and hips.
Dr. Dandawate believes in cultivating a strong doctor-patient relationship, as well as total adherence to surgical principles, as these qualities result in the best possible outcome. His numerous happy patients will gladly tell you that he may just be the best orthopedic surgeon Dubai has to offer.
After receiving his medical degree (MBBS) from the prestigious GS Medical college, Mumbai, India, he obtained his post graduate (M.S.Orth) qualifications from the same institute. He served in the same medical college as Lecturer and then as Senior Lecturer till his departure to the UK in 1992. He completed five years of training in reputed hospitals in the UK. He obtained his MCh Orth. from the Liverpool University. He also did a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery, Oswestry, UK.
Dr. Dandawate has 30 years of experience of working in India, UK and UAE. He was associated with the Mediclinic-Welcare hospital, Dubai since its inception. He established and was the Head of Department of Orthopaedics at the Welcare Hospital, Dubai.

Poor attitude
Today, we visited the orthopedic department to get a second opinion on an injury of my son and met with a senior doctor. Unfortunately, he seemed displeased that we had not chosen him as the primary doctor. After hearing us out briefly, he asked us to wait outside. A few minutes later, he called us back in and within a minute dismissed the issue, claiming there was no problemwithout even examining the injury. It felt like we were there just to pay a consultation fee. This experience was very disappointing, especially considering the positive interactions I have had with other departments before.

Best Orthopedics no doubt
Dr. Abhay listens to the problem patiently and suggests only what is essential, no unnecessary medicines or tests. The diagnosis is good with such strong experience in the field .the doctor is very polite and humble.
