A new report published by World Cancer Research Fund found that even moderate drinkers are putting themselves at an increased risk of breast cancer. The report reveals that there is "strong evidence" that consuming alcoholic drinks increases the risk of breast cancer.

Muliple possible links has been suggested between alchohol consumption and breast cancer. One of them says when we drink alcohol, it is converted into a toxic substance called acetaldehyde which can cause cells to become cancerous. Moreover, bacteria in the mouth are particularly good at converting alcohol into acetaldehyde, meaning only small dose of drinking can cause harm.

The report also lists 'body fatness' and 'adult weight gain' as factors with 'strong evidence' for increasing risk of postmenopausal breast cancer.
