Dr. Shama completed her Diploma in Obstetrics Ultrasound (UK), internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lady Dufferin Hospital, Karachi in 1997, and her postgraduate course in Gynecological Imagery at Cite des Sciences in Paris. She received her MRCP and a Diploma in Advance Obstetric Ultrasound (RCOG/ RCR) in London.
Dr. Shama Completed many courses including Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopy courses at IBC in Dubai, 3D/4D Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology at VU University Medical Centre in Amsterdam, Obstetric Ultrasound at the Institute of Ultra Sonography in Karachi, and Vaginal Probe Ultrasound at Royal Free Hospital in London. She also completed courses in Minimal Access Gynecology Surgery at Beaumont Hospital, a Management of Fecal Incontinence Workshop, and Management of Medical Emergencies at St. James Hospital in Dublin.
In addition, Dr. Shama completed the RCOG level 3 in Minimal Access Therapy Unit at Surrey, a Critical Care Course at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, and an Advance Colposcopy Course at the University of Sheffield. Also, a Family Planning Course at the Family Planning Clinic in Cork, and a course on Resuscitation of the Newborn at Erinville Hospital in Cork.
Dr. Shama worked as a General Duty Medical Officer in the Pakistan Armed Forces Hospital in Sardogha (1977 ? 1979), an SHO Obstetrics and Gynecology at Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi (1980 ? 1983), and had her own private practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Shaheen Clinic in Karachi (1983 ? 1990). 7 years later, she was employed as Senior RMO Obstetrics and Hynaecology at the Adventist Hospital (1990) in Karachi, and Locum SHO Obstetrics and Gynecology at Portiuncula Hospital in Galway (1991).
Dr. Shama worked as SHO Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sligo General Hospital (1992), Tralee General Hospital (1992), Victoria Hospital (1993), and Bons Secour College Road (1996) in Cork. She was also operating as a Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Erinville (1993 ? 1994) and St. Finbarr?s Hospital in Cork (1994 ? 1995). She was promoted to Senior Registrar at Louth County Hospital (1997 ? 2000) before joining Al Zahra Hospital Sharjah in 2001.
