Dr Sairam is a consultant urologist with more than 20 years of experience. He graduated from Stanley Medical College in 1989 and then moved to the United Kingdom in 1992. He obtained his FRCS in Surgery in General in 1996, the Diploma in Urology from University College London in 1998 and FRCS in Urology in 2007. Having obtained the CCT in Urology in 2009, he was consultant in the Glan Clwyd Hospital in Wales before moving to India in late 2010. He has then held consultant appointments in Global Hospital and subsequently Kauvery Hospital, in Chennai. He is an expert in endourology and trained with a special interest in urological cancers. His specific expertise is in laparoscopic and robotic urology. He is academically oriented, having done clinical research for a period of 2 years during his training period. He has presented several papers in international urological congresses / meetings and has published extensively in peer reviewed journals, as well as having written a book chapter for a urology textbook. He is an accredited reviewer for a few urological journals.
