Dr Yasmeen Shereef carries with her 23 years of experience as a general radiologist. After completing her post graduation from the prestigious Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India in 1994, she went on to do her Fellowship in woman's imaging in Milton Keyes Hospital , UK. She has worked in various hospitals in the UAE, most notably and for the longest tenure at the renowned 360 bedded Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah a government run tertiary referral centre with undergraduate and postgraduate medical training. Owing to this academic mileu and heavy patient footfall in the Radiology department, Dr Shereef worked extensively in imaging and diagnosis of a vast array of multidisciplinary pathologies in the most critical emergent situations , while concurrently pursuing her FRCR ( Royal College), UK.
Her special interest in female imaging and fetal anomalies, led her to work in close association with the OB/GYN department, where she received referrals for final opinions from Kuwaiti Hospital, Al Qassimi hospital and other hospitals of the Northern Emirates region. She was also involved in sonography training of gynecologists and medical students, and mentored junior radiologists with special interest in female imaging and fetal medicine. Her papers presented on related subjects at various local conferences, have been well received by radiology, gynec , and pediatric peers. Since 2008, she was involved in the set up and launch of Global Hawk Teleradiolgy where she also served as panel radiologist . She then helped to launch GHID in 2011 and its subsequent branches , where cross sectional imaging (MRI &CT), form a large bulk of her case load, apart from female imaging and OB/Gyn referrals. Dr. Shereef continues to balance her hands on work as senior radiologist , while managing quality control at GHID in accordance with stringent DHA, FANR, and international best clinical & radiological practice guidelines.
