Dr. Sunil Roy had been working as Consultant Cardiologist and Senior Lecturer at Calicut Medical College, Kerala, India. He has passed MBBS in 1992 from Medical College, Alleppey and MD in Internal Medicine from Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate medical Education and research (JIPMER), Pondicherry in 1998. He was the recipient of gold medal in Cardiology from JIPMER in the year 1998. He did his post-doctoral training in cardiology from G.B Pant Hospital, New Delhi, which is the major interventional cardiac center in India. He joined Calicut Medical College as Senior Lecturer through the examination conducted by Kerala Public Service Commission. He has worked for total of four years in this position and has done various non invasive and invasive cardiac procedures in the center.
Dr. Sunil Roy has over 7 years of Experience in the field of interventional cardiology. He has special interest in coronary interventions and heart failure. He was working with Prof. K Venugopal, Head of Dept. of Cardiology, Calicut Medical College, who is the national co-coordinator of non coronary intervention registry for Cardiology Society of India. He has good experience in coronary interventions and non coronary interventions including coronary angioplasties, balloon valvuloplasties, device closures, pacemaker implantation and electrophysiological studies. Dr. Sunil Roy was involved in teaching under graduates and post graduates students and training of post doctoral fellows in non invasive and invasive cardiology. He has involved in various research projects like newer echocardiographic technique for valve area calculation and thrombosis in mitral stenosis. His papers have been accepted in various national and international conferences like annual conferences of Cardiology Society of India and the American College of Cardiology. He has twelve publications in peer reviewed journals including Heart, Echocardiography, International Journal of Cardiology and Journal of American Society of Echocardiography. He has peer reviewed articles for Indian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal and Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology Journal.
