Dr. Mohammad Badre Alam completed his basic medical education, internship and junior residency from NRS Medical College, Kolkata and RML Hospital in Delhi, India in 1997. He then moved to Sydney, Australia for further training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He completed his basic physician training from St George Hospital and Liverpool Hospital in Sydney. In 2011 Dr. Alam completed his advanced training in gastroenterology from Nepean Hospital and
Westmead Hospital, Sydney and became a fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He worked as a consultant gastroenterologist at Wollongong Hospital and Nepean Hospital in Sydney, Australia from 2011 to 2012. During his training he had been actively involved in multiple trials related to inflammatory bowel disease, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, irritable bowel disease and endoscopic resection of large colonic polyps with leading researchers in the field. He has also shown keen interest in academic activities and has presented in multiple gastroenterology meetings. Dr. Alam moved to Abu Dhabi in 2013 to work in a major government referral hospital. He was actively involved in setting up the colo-rectal screening programme and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease patients. His key interests include inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome, upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and PEG tube insertion.
