Brio is a centre that caters for children with disability or at risk for a delay from 0 to 10 years old. We provide the following services: speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy as well as family counselling. Family and teacher trainings are also provided upon need by our team. Brio embraces a family-centered as well as a transdisciplinary holistic approach in the natural environment of the child (home, school, parks, malls...) and/or at the centre upon need. The sessions' format usually depends on the need of the child and could be the following: individual sessions, joint sessions and group therapy sessions. Our main aim is to empower families, caregivers, teachers and society in order to ensure a smooth inclusion of each and every child with delay and/or disability. Our scope of work at schools and nurseries includes the following: - Meeting with management in purpose of introduction and collaboration. - Supporting school/nursery’s personnel during entrance assessment. - Conducting an IEP meeting with teachers and school/nursery’s caregivers once the child is enrolled. - Assisting school/nursery’s personnel in accommodating and modifying the curriculum for the child as well as supporting class teachers in applying the curriculum modification plan. - Providing intervention sessions in class to coach the teacher and shadow teacher by implementing 3 coaching techniques: modelling, observing, guiding during activities. A debriefing is usually done after these sessions and documented in intervention guides. - Providing tailored awareness sessions and practical training workshops for school/nursery personnel to help them support children with delays and disabilities. - Providing developmental screenings at nurseries and schools to ensure early detection and prevention of delays. “Our main aim is to meet the individual needs of every child and his family”
